Fellowship Training:

Women's Health Fellowship 

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers a one-year fellowship designed to provide in-depth training in Breast and Gynecological Pathology. The fellow will spend 5 months on the breast service, 5 months on the GYN service, and 2 months on elective rotations. The importance of clinicopathological interaction is stressed, with participation by the fellow in Tumor boards and multi-disciplinary conferences and intensive training in women's health. The fellow participates in the daily sign-outs, assisting and overseeing the resident on the service with processing of breast and gynecologic specimens, and teaching residents and students histopathology. The fellow will have the opportunity to be involved with clinical/transitional research and is expected to publish at least one paper in a peer-reviewed journal. The fellow will have the opportunity to act as junior faculty and sign out with residents once the faculty has evaluated competency.

Requirements:

Candidate should be either Board-certified or eligible in AP or AP/CP. A California medical license is required.

Stipends:

Support is commensurate with the candidate's level of training.
