Neuropathology

The Section of Neuropathology at UCLA provides cutting-edge diagnostic tests on all abnormalities of the central and peripheral nervous system including: tumors and vascular malformations of the brain; skull base, spine and spinal cord disorders; peripheral nerve and muscle studies; degenerative and inflammatory conditions that affect the brain and spinal cord; diseases of nerves & skeletal muscle, including metabolic testing as indicated; unusual causes of stroke, cerebrovascular disease and epilepsy.

Our diagnostic laboratory is fully equipped for immunohistochemical and molecular analysis of structural abnormalities, using modern diagnostic reagents and tools, including many that have been developed over the years in our own laboratories.
