Hematopathology

Hematopathology involves the diagnosis of blood and lymphatic conditions such as Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, leukemia, myelodysplasia, myeloproliferative disorders, anemia, immune deficiency, and opportunistic infections. The program includes memebers with expertise in lymph node and other related tissue interpretation, adult and pediatric bone marrow pathology, flow cytometry, molecular hematopathology, white blood cell function disorders and general and special laboratory hematology.
The centerpiece of UCLA's hematopathology service is the Clinical Flow Cytometry Outreach program, which provides customized, clinically relevant and timely multiparametric flow cytometry analysis using leading industry standards, in the context of clinico-pathologic correlations identified by our flow cytometrists and nationally recognized multidisciplinary pathologists. Our team of experts is available for consultations, second opinions, and discussion of prognosis and treatment options.
