Dr. Fishbein completed a fellowship in cardiovascular pathology with Dr. William Roberts at The National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Geffen-UCLA is the busiest heart transplant facility in the world. Dr. Fishbein’s extensive expertise in cardiac transplant pathology has played an integral part in the success of the program. In addition to the evaluation of endomyocardial biopsies for a wide variety of disease processes, Dr. Fishbein has had extensive experience in lung pathology, particularly in the interpretation of non-neoplastic diseases of the lung.

Dr. Fishbein is also Director of Autopsy Services at Geffen-UCLA where he directs one of the busiest academic autopsy programs in the state. His expertise in autopsy studies and forensic aspects has contributed to his standing as one of the leading medical-legal consultants in this field.
