Dr. Apple is a graduate of Wright State University School of Medicine in 1992. She completed 5 year residency program at UCLA in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology training and was a chief resident/surgical pathology fellow in her last year. She also completed an additional year in a Cytology fellowship.

Dr. Apple worked at Kaiser Permanente for over four years as a general pathologist. She joined UCLA as a faculty in 2002 and is subspecialized in Breast Pathology and Cytopathology.
