Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is responsible for teaching general and systemic pathology, as well as gross anatomy courses for the School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry. Our faculty also participate in other courses such as Cell and Tissue Biology, Genetics, Microbiology and Immunology, and the multidisciplinary Clinical Applications for Basic Science.

Electives are also offered in Surgical Pathology, Autopsy Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine for 3rd and 4th year students. Courses offered for Graduate Students are listed in the Research section of this web sites, and a description of the Post-Sophomore Fellowship and Pathology is presented in the Clinical Training section.
Several of our faculty are actively involved in innovation and research in medical education. Examples of this work can be viewed here. Please visit the UCLA School of Medicine Instructional Development and Technology Unit web pages for other activities in this area.
Access to the full course web sites is restricted to the School of Medicine/School of Dentistry students and faculty. If you are at UCLA or visiting from another school and would like to view these for education development reasons, please contact Dr. Bob Trelease.
