After successful completion of the oral exam and upon receipt of the signed Request for Advancement to Candidacy report form, the Student Affairs Coordinator will submit the form to the Graduate Division for processing. When the Graduate Division receives the oral exam form, the student is considered Advanced-to-Candidacy (approximately two weeks processing time). The student will be assessed a $65.00 processing fee that will appear on their monthly student billing statement.
Advancement to candidacy is based on the doctoral committee's approval of the written proposal and its oral defense. Students who fail either the written or oral aspect of this Qualifying Exam must retake the examination within six months, no later than December of Year 3
