The Cellular and Molecular Pathology Graduate Program in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA offers a five-year doctorate program providing excellent guidance, support and training to graduate students in research focusing on the cellular and molecular basis of disease. The CMP Program prides itself on a distinguished faculty who are committed to excellent, innovative teaching and research and who also place a high premium on student advising, mentoring and individual student development. Throughout the program, students will be learning and developing the skills essential for a complete scientist: the self-motivation and creativity necessary to be productive in an unstructured environment; the critical thought and detailed knowledge necessary to formulate testable hypotheses with modern methods, and the ability to communicate compellingly and rigorously through both writing and speech.
